The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is a crucial component of the UK registration process for the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Part 2 of the Test of Competence comprises a practical examination, during which you will be evaluated on your clinical and communication skills.

According to the NMC website, it is stated that you are more than welcome to take your CBT or OSCE in any order; however, both parts must be completed to proceed with your application for initial registration or readmission.

The OSCE consists of 10 stations:

  • Four stations are interconnected around a scenario: the APIE (one station each for Assessment, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation)
  • Four stations are designed to assess skills (two pairs, each comprising two skills)
  • Two stations evaluate the candidate’s values, behaviours, and commitment to evidence-based practice.

At MWM, we offer OSCE training programs for Adults, Mental Health Nursing, and Nursing associates. The online preparation, which lasts 4-6 weeks, is followed by 5-10 days of onsite training based on your desired programme. For more information, please visit our website and review the specific program details. You can also enrol here https://bit.ly/4lmBqad, and one of our consultants will reach out to you.
