MWM NMC OSCE MASTER’s TRAINING

The Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) in the UK utilizes the Test of Competence (ToC) to evaluate the skills and knowledge of individuals aiming to join the register from abroad or re-enter after a significant break from practice.

The Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) is specifically designed to assess the ability to effectively apply professional nursing skills and knowledge within the UK context. It is set at the standard expected of nurses upon their entry into the profession at the registration point. This means that candidates must prove their capability to apply knowledge in patient care at the level anticipated of a newly registered nurse. The examination assesses the ability to apply knowledge and skills in patient care, rather than simply testing the memorization and recitation of facts. All scenarios and related questions are based on current best practices, and candidates should respond in accordance with published evidence.

OSCE Fees

The fee for the OSCE is £794.

If you need to resit 8 or more stations, then the fee is also £794.

If you need to resit 7 or fewer stations, then the fee is £397.

There are Five Approve OSCE Test Centres in the United Kingdom:

• University of Northampton
• Ulster University
• Northumbria University
• Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust

• The training format may be adjusted to suit the learning styles and levels of the candidates.
• Please note that we do not provide refunds for training programs once you enroll and the training portal is open. Make sure to finalize your decision before joining.
• The training cost does not cover OSCE booking fees and accommodation expenses.
• Candidates are welcome to bring their own lunch; we provide access to a refrigerator and microwave for your convenience.

Why is the 10-day period crucial for candidates’ learning?

The 10-day timeframe enables candidates to fully engage with the material without feeling overwhelmed, allowing sufficient opportunity for practice and reflection. This structured schedule ensures that each station receives the required attention, progressively enabling candidates to build their confidence and skills.

Moreover, this duration balances intensive learning and essential breaks, helping candidates recharge and absorb information effectively. Our thorough approach prepares them for the OSCE and equips them with invaluable skills and confidence for their future careers. Through interactive sessions, in-depth feedback, and personalised support, our 10-day program is crafted to optimise learning outcomes, ensuring every candidate feels ready and capable of achieving success.

Since our training began in 2020, we have worked closely with employers to help their candidates pass the OSCE on their first attempt. Based on the experiences of our successful candidates, we have found that a final preparation period of 10 days is optimal for OSCE success.
