DESCRIPTION: 

This training session has been prepared to ensure that all staff are fully up-to-date with regard to their personal and pressure care responsibilities. This training will assist with meeting Care Certificate theory requirements. 

 

 

 

COURSE CONTENT 

This course covers the following at Level 1: 

  • The role of the carer when toileting a service user 
  • Incontinence and its control 
  • The importance of personal hygiene procedures 
  • Pressure sores and how they can be avoided 

 

 

 

TARGET POPULATION: 

All staff who may be called upon to undertake to undertake personal care in the course of their duties. 

 

 

 

COURSE AIMS: 

For the participants to understand personal care, the types of personal care, pressure sores, and additional personal care provisions.  

 

 

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES: 

At the end of this session participants will be able to: 

  • Understand the role of the carer when providing personal care 
  • Understand incontinence and its control 
  • Describe the importance of personal hygiene procedures 
  • Understand pressure sores and how they can be avoided 

 

 

 

 

TRAINING OVERVIEW 

 

 

 

COURSE DURATION: 

Theory = 3 Hours

 

 

 

CERTIFICATION: 

Upon successful completion of the questionnaire and practical elements. 

 

 

 

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 

12 Maximum
