HEALTH CARE ASSISTANT

As an Health Care Assistant or Senior Carer Assistant, you will be working under the guidance of a healthcare professional such as a nurse and your job will vary depending on where you’re based. Also known as healthcare support workers or nursing auxiliaries. They help to look after a patient, resident or service-users, including helping you eat or wash, taking your temperature or blood pressure, or in some cases taking blood samples. The level of tasks they can carry out varies, but they should be able to help with your comfort and daily needs. They won’t be able to prescribe medication or do as many things as a qualified nurse.

Hence, if your background is nursing in your own country, please do not attempt any nursing skills to carry out unless you have secure your PIN in the UK. Also, please make everyday as your learning day as much as possible by developing positive mindset. Learn to be teachable and adaptable within the UK settings.
