Artificial Ventilation

The aim of this Artificial Ventilation course is to greater increase your understanding of artificial ventilation and the awareness of its associated risks.

The main points are:

•Know the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory tract

•Be able to describe the mechanics of breathing

•Understand the indications for artificial ventilation

•Demonstrate a knowledge of the complications of artificial ventilation

•Know the theory of managing artificial ventilated person

•Understand additional procedures that require training e.g. cough assist, nebulisers, suction

•Understand your role in relation to local policies and procedures
