DEMENTIA AWARENESS

DESCRIPTION: 

All staff who may require Dementia Awareness Training. This training will assist with meeting Care Certificate theory requirements. 

COURSE CONTENT  

This course covers the following at Level 1: 

• Knowledge on how to improve care delivered to people with dementia 

• Knowledge on how to support relationships of people with dementia 

• Understanding of the reasons for behaviour we may find difficult 

• Knowledge of the different types of dementia 

• Understanding of what it may be like to have dementia, etc. 

TARGET POPULATION: 

All staff who may require Dementia Awareness Training 

COURSE AIMS: 

The aim of the sessions is to inform care workers about dementia awareness, the way issues may be addressed, about the forms of dementia and what it may be like to have dementia.

LEARNING OUTCOMES 

At the end of this session participants will be able to: 

• Understand how to improve care delivered to people with dementia 

• Understand how to support relationships of people with dementia 

• List reasons for behaviour we may find difficult 

• List the different types of dementia 

• Understand what it may be like to have dementia 

TRAINING OVERVIEW 

COURSE DURATION: 

Theory = 3 Hours 

CERTIFICATION: 

Upon successful completion of the session questionnaire. 

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 

12 Maximum

For individuals or groups with fewer participants than the specified minimum, there will be a minimum call-out fee per session, ranging from £120 to £220 depending on the course. This fee covers the trainer’s time, course delivery, materials, travel (if necessary), and certification.
