DIABETES AWARENESS LEVEL 1

DESCRIPTION: 

All staff who may require Diabetes Awareness Training.  

COURSE CONTENT 

This course covers the following at Level 2: 

• Knowledge of the different types of diabetes 

• Understanding common signs, symptoms, and risk factors 

• Awareness of basic diabetes management and lifestyle support 

• Knowledge of how to respond to diabetes-related concerns 

• Understanding what it may be like to live with diabetes 

TARGET POPULATION: 

All staff who may require Diabetes Awareness Training.

COURSE AIMS: 

The aim of the session is to provide learners with knowledge to assist with their roles and responsibilities regarding Diabetes Awareness. 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:  

At the end of this session learners will be able to: 

• Understand what diabetes is and its prevalence inthe UK
• Know the cause of diabetes, the symptoms and howit is diagnosed
• Know what the main types of diabetes are
• Understand how diabetes is treated and how it canbe prevented
• Have an awareness of complications that can becaused through diabetes 
• Understand the importance of supporting peoplewith a diabetes
• Implement diabetes awareness measures in theworkplace

Theory = 3 Hours 

CERTIFICATION: 

Upon successful completion of the session questionnaire.  

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 

12 Maximum
