All staff who may require Food Hygiene Awareness Training. This training will assist with meeting Care Certificate theory requirements. 

 

 

 

COURSE CONTENT 

This course covers the following at Level 2: 

  • Personal protection 
  • Food purchase 
  • The main food poisoning bacteria 
  • In-transit protection of food 
  • Safe storage of food 
  • Kitchen cleaning 
  • Cooking safely, etc. 
  • Implementing food hygiene measures in the workplace.

 

 

 

TARGET POPULATION: 

This Food Hygiene Awareness Training is for all staff. 

 

 

 

COURSE AIMS: 

This course will enable participants to prepare food safely and maintain correct food hygiene practices at home and at work. 

 

 

 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:  

At the end of the session participants will be able to:  

  • Describe the legal requirement with regard to food hygiene and safety  
  • Explain the results of poor food hygiene practices at work and at home  
  • Recognise the causes of food poisoning  
  • Recognise food poisoning symptoms  
  • Understand the importance of good personal hygiene  
  • Understand the importance of correct food handling and preparation at work. 

 

 

 

 

TRAINING OVERVIEW 

 

 

 

COURSE DURATION: 

Theory = 4 – 5 Hours 

 

 

 

CERTIFICATION: 

Upon successful completion of the session. 

 

 

 

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 

12 Maximum
