INFECTION CONTROL AWARENESS LEVEL 2

DESCRIPTION: 

All staff who may require Infection Control Awareness Training. This training will assist with meeting Care Certificate theory requirements. 

COURSE CONTENT 

This course covers the following at Level 2: 

• Legal aspects 

• Disease transmission 

• Hand washing & glove use 

• Housekeeping 

• Needles & sharps 

• Waste disposal, etc. 

• Implementing infection control measures in the workplace. 

TARGET POPULATION:

All staff who may be involved in infection control in the course of their duties (everyone). 

COURSE AIMS: 

This course aims to equip participants with the knowledge and skills to prevent and control infections effectively, ensuring safe and hygienic practices in their workplace or care environment. 

LEARNING OUTCOMES:  

At the end of this session participants will be able to: 

• State their obligations and that of their employers with regard to infection control. 

• Understand the consequences of poor infection control practice.  

• State the actions to be taken in relation to the infection control requirements put in place within their working environment. 

• Identify the correct actions with regard to a range of different infection control situations.

COURSE DURATION: 

Theory = 4-5 Hours 

CERTIFICATION: 

Upon successful completion of the session questionnaire.  

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 

12 Maximum
