MOVING & HANDLING LEVEL 2 

DESCRIPTION: 

All staff who may require Moving & Handling Training. This training will assist with meeting Care Certificate theory requirements. 

COURSE CONTENT 

This course covers the following at Level 2: 

• Manual handling (The Legal Aspects) 

• The body and what can go wrong during manual handling 

• Principles of safe moving & handling 

• In-house policy and assessments 

• Practical training and competency assessment of various manoeuvres used in the workplace 

TARGET POPULATION: 

All staff who may be called upon to undertake moving & handling in the course of their duties. 

COURSE AIMS: 

This training session has been prepared to ensure that all staff are fully up-to-date with regard to their statutory manual handling responsibilities. 

LEARNING OUTCOMES: 

At the end of this session participants will be able to: 

• List legal responsibilities with regard to moving and handling 

• Explain the consequences of poor moving and handling practice 

• Explain body anatomy in relation to moving and handling 

• Describe the principles of safe moving and handling 
• Demonstrate safe moving and handling practice 

TRAINING OVERVIEW 

COURSE DURATION: 

Theory + Practical = 6 Hours, Update- 3 Hours 

CERTIFICATION: 

Upon successful completion of the questionnaire and practical elements. 

NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS: 

12 Maximum

For individuals or groups with fewer participants than the specified minimum, there will be a minimum call-out fee per session, ranging from £120 to £220 depending on the course. This fee covers the trainer’s time, course delivery, materials, travel (if necessary), and certification.
